Details

Framework documents, based on a template from HM Treasury, set out the responsibilities of government departments and their executive agencies and arms length bodies. The Environment Agency has worked with colleagues across the Defra group to ensure that our framework document reflects our new collaborative ways of working as well as clearly setting out our respective roles.

Emma Howard Boyd, Chair of the Environment Agency, said:

The Environment Agency’s priority is to create a better place for people and wildlife. It is a special place to work because we are both an arm’s length body with statutory responsibilities and we work as part of a team with the Defra group. Creating this framework document gave us the opportunity to set out some of our ideas for working together and to demonstrate our shared vision.
