Details

Building a Stronger Britain Together (BSBT) was launched by the Home Office in 2016 as the main work programme under the government’s 2015 Counter-Extremism (CE) Strategy.

The report outlines what BSBT delivered from 2016 to 2020 as well as presenting findings from an independent evaluation of its effectiveness. There are also wider lessons for what works in tackling extremism and other government-funded programmes.

This final evaluation report, with a foreword from the Minister for Countering Extremism Baroness Williams, provides a summary of what the BSBT programme delivered and the impact it achieved. It also includes evidence of impact across all BSBT’s target outcomes at individual, organisation and community level providing lessons learnt for how to ensure impact in future programmes of work.

BSBT has created a network and funded over 252 civil society organisations, which received around £8.5 million of government funding since 2016. Those organisations who received grants are estimated to have engaged up to 290,000 individuals.
