Details

In December 2016, following the Autumn Statement 2016 announcement of over £1billion of investment to boost the UK’s digital infrastructure, a Call for Evidence on extending local full fibre networks was published.

The Government received 125 submissions from communications providers, local bodies and other interested parties, which have contributed towards the development of the Local Full Fibre Networks programme. We have now launched a first wave of projects to test the approaches explored through the Call for Evidence.
