Details

The UK National Action Plan sets out the government’s priorities on women, peace and security from 2014 to 2017. It is the guiding national policy document that provides the direction and vision to the government and its partners as we work to ensure that women and girls are at the centre of our efforts to prevent, respond to and resolve conflict.

The government has commissioned an external evaluation of the National Action Plan to learn lessons about what is working in our women, peace and security programmes and policy engagement and where we need to improve. The first, baseline, report of the external evaluators sets out their findings.

The light-touch midline report takes advantage of the opportunity to learn lessons from the baseline evaluation, and draw from global best practice, to prepare for a post-2017 National Action Plan that could play a more significant role in leading UK policy and programming on women, peace and security.

The endline evaluation looks at the progress that the UK has made on the delivery of its WPS agenda since the baseline evaluation was undertaken two years ago. It takes a forward-looking approach to ensure that lessons can be learned from the delivery of this NAP, to ensure that the UK’s new 2018 NAP is founded on best practice from UK experience.
