Details

The Facilities Management Standards (FMS) are associated with the Government Functional Standard for property, GovS 004: Property and form part of the Governance and Management Framework for the Government Property Function.

The standards are mandatory for central government organisations with property responsibilities, including departments and their arms length bodies. Adhering to these standards is mandatory and forms part of the Facilities Management Control assurance criteria.

Other public sector organisations might find it useful to assess themselves against the same framework.

The standards will help make best-practice standard-practice, and set a new benchmark for what good facilities management should look like.
