‘Grossing’ is the process of applying factors to survey sample data so that they yield estimates for the overall population.

This guidance explains how the grossing methodology for the the Family Resources Survey has been revised following the change to using 2011 census results in the production of mid-year population estimates by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
