Details

Poole Harbour has seen successful commercial cultivation of Pacific oysters (Crassostrea gigas) since the mid-1980s but wild populations are not becoming as established, compared to other areas in southern England.

The research was carried out in Poole Harbour from 1 June 2012 to 1 June 2013 by the Ocean and Earth Science, National Oceanography Centre, University of Southampton.
