Details

Sir Peter Hendy has been asked to assess the feasibility of constructing a fixed transport link between Northern Ireland and Great Britain as part of the independent union connectivity review.

This report:

  • reviews existing transport links
  • outlines the methodology of the study
  • reviews the technical feasibility of a fixed link along the corridor
  • assesses the environmental impact of construction
  • provides an estimate of costings

The study investigates tunnel and bridge options and also considers the land connections that would be necessary to link a crossing into existing transport networks.
