Request for information
The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (the department) received the following request for information which we responded to under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA):
I would like to request the following information:
Any correspondence from the then secretary of state or ministers sent to Adam Crozier, then chief executive of Royal Mail, which mentioned “Horizon”.
This should be taken to include any emails, letters and messages in any format, and refined to emails if necessary due to the cost/time limit.
Please limit the above searches to the period 2003 and 2010. If necessary for the cost limit, please limit this to 2009 to April 2010. In the event that you exercise an exemption on any of the above data, please could you supply me with the dates of any correspondence.
There is a clear legitimate public interest in this disclosure. Crozier held a senior role during a period when concerns about Horizon were raised.

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology was created on the 7 February 2023, following Machinery of Government changes. Therefore, we can confirm that the department does not hold this information.
