Dear

Thank you of your email dated 26th June 2021, where you requested the following:

Please advise how many first and second doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine have been administered to pregnant women. Please advise of the gestation at which both the first and second doses have been reported, broken down at least by trimester. Have any cases of VITT or fatality following vaccination been reported in pregnant women receiving the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine.

Regarding your first question, the MHRA does not hold information relating to how many vaccinations have been administered. You may wish to contact Public Health England at [email protected] as they may be able to help with this part of your request.

We can confirm that up to 21st July 2021, the MHRA has not received any Yellow Card reports of blood clots with concurrent low platelets in pregnant women following vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. We can also confirm that we have not received any Yellow Card reports of fatalities in pregnant women following vaccination with the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca.

Public Health England have published a guide for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or of childbearing age. This can be accessed using the following link:
