Details

Independent feasibility study carried out to provide government with sufficient information to develop, design, launch and manage an advanced fuels competition. The intention of the competition is to reduce emissions from the difficult-to-decarbonise aviation and HGV sectors. The competition will lead to the establishment of advanced fuel production facilities.

The Department for Transport announced the Future Fuels for Flight and Freight Competition on 23 November 2016 as part of the Autumn Statement. First stage winners were announced on 18 June 2018.

The competition’ was run by the Ricardo and ETech4 with the Department for Transport.
