Freedom of Information Act: Request for information on Groceries Code Adjudicator activities
Thank you for your email dated 20 January 2022 regarding losses and special payments in the periods 2018-19, 2019-20 and 2020-21 at the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA). In your email you asked for the following information:
- The total number of cases of losses in each year.
- The total cost of losses in each year.
- An itemisation of each loss including what it was for and how much it cost.
- The total number of special payments in each year.
- The total value of special payments in each year.
- An itemisation of each special payment including what it was for and how much it cost.
Duty to confirm or deny whether the GCA holds the information
Under section 1(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“FoIA”), anyone making a request for information to the GCA, as a public authority, is entitled to be informed in writing whether it holds that information, and if so, to be supplied with it. I can confirm that the GCA has not made any losses or special payments in 2018-19, 2019-20 or 2020-21.
