Details

General Lighthouse Fund accounts consolidate the General Lighthouse Authorities’ accounts, which are accounts maintained by the Department for Transport in combination with the two investment managers and the light dues collection accounts maintained by Trinity House. The GLAs comprise:

  • Trinity House in its capacity as a lighthouse service
  • Commissioners of Northern Lighthouses (known as Northern Lighthouse Board)
  • Commissioners of Irish Lights

The report and accounts of the General Lighthouse Fund are prepared pursuant to Section 211(5) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. These accounts have been prepared in accordance with the 2011 to 2012 Government Financial Reporting Manual (FReM) issued by HM Treasury. The accounting policies contained in the FReM follow International Financial Reporting Standards to the extent that it is meaningful and appropriate to the public sector.
