Geoblocking is the restriction of access to online content based on geographical location.

This document sets out the government’s position on geoblocking and our response to the European Commission’s consultation. The consultation sought views and opinions on the restrictions faced by users, consumers and businesses when they access or provide information, shop or sell across borders in the EU.
