This research report supports the Commission’s role to encourage all charities to think about environmental sustainability. It highlights how some charities are recognising the need to become greener, for example:

  • developing a written statement that covers environmental issues
  • carrying out environmental audits
  • incorporating environmental statements in the Trustees’ Annual Report

The commission’s research shows that more can still be done to monitor the impact that is being made. All charities can make an environmental difference through their activities, and this could result in cost savings.
