This is the government’s response to the HS2 West Midlands to Crewe: environmental and traffic impacts, transport provisions and station improvement or creation consultation, which ran from 1 to 26 February 2021.

It outlines the government’s approach, including to:

  • strive to improve the Phase 2a scheme as it is developed
  • avoid, reduce and mitigate traffic and environmental impacts
  • continue to engage with local communities affected during the construction period
  • commit more than £17.8 million to deliver benefits for communities and the local environment along the Phase 2a route
