Details

This guidance** is intended to provide additional information for Green Deal Providers on the requirements of operating in the Green Deal market. It is not a comprehensive handbook to the market, but instead gives guidance on the underlying regulatory framework, in particular the requirements in developing a Green Deal Plan and the monitoring and sanctions processes. It should be read in conjunction with Part 1, Chapter 1 of the Energy Act 2011, the Green Deal Framework Regulations (Disclosure, Acknowledgement, Redress etc.) Regulations 2012 and the Green Deal Code of Practice.

As the Green Deal develops the team at DECC will upload new guidance when appropriate – the full list of which can be found on the GOV.UK website. Guidance uploaded since the November 2012 document above includes information on how the Green Deal interacts with:

  • The Property Industry (e.g. selling, letting)
  • Feed-In Tariffs
  • Prepayment Meters
  • ECO
  • Affordability Assessments

We strongly recommend Green Deal Providers check the Green Deal guidance list regularly for the latest updates.

**Please note the Provider Guidance was published before updates were made to the Code of Practice: Version 2, hence some references to the section numbers in Code may now differ - this will be addressed in the next update to the Provider Guidance.
