Details

Between May 2015 and December 2016 there was rapid and extensive spread of Zika virus to new geographical areas. However, during 2017 the intensity of transmission has decreased in many countries. There is an association between Zika virus infection and microcephaly and other neurological disorders.

This risk assessment was undertaken to assess the current risk that Zika virus presents to the UK.
