Details

The honours system rewards outstanding achievement by individuals in their field of expertise.

The Science, Technology and Research Honours Committee considers nominations from the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics; social, political and economic sciences; and research in all areas, including the arts and humanities and medicine.

When to nominate

Nominations for honours can be submitted at any time.

To be considered for the New Year round, nominations must be received by the beginning of April. For the King’s Birthday round, nominations must be received by the end of September.

Nominations will be automatically put forward for consideration at the next available round.

How to nominate

  1. Download the nomination form.

  2. Read the guidance provided and follow the detailed instructions.

  3. Make sure that you have the 2 letters of support required for each nomination.

  4. Submit your nomination.

  1. The word 'Queen' has been replaced by 'King' to reflect the change of the monarch. Landing page: wording added to clarify that individuals in research professions and political and economic sciences can also be nominated; deadline date for nominations for the New Year round has been changed from early May to beginning of April and for the King's Birthday round from early October to end of September.
