This is a report by the SSAC on draft regulations for 2 of the Housing Benefit measures announced in the 2015 Summer Budget:

  • time-limiting the backdating of new claims to Housing Benefit to 1 month
  • removing the family premium for new claims to Housing Benefit made on or after 1 May 2016

The report includes the government’s response to the SSAC’s recommendations.
