Details

The local authority insight survey gathers feedback from local authority benefit managers on topics of interest to the Department for Work and Pensions.

Wave 34 of the survey examined:

  • fraud and error in Housing Benefit – to understand and measure the effectiveness of activities local authorities have implemented to reduce fraud and error, including the Right Benefit Initiative scheme and use of caseload management information
  • changes to local authority structures and services – to quantify and capture changes to local authorities’ structures and services in response to a series of welfare reforms, as well as their priorities for financial year 2018 to 2019
  • the 4 week limit for absences outside Great Britain for Housing Benefit – to understand the impact of this change on local authority workloads
