A report by Temple-ERM for HS2 Ltd

The initial preferred scheme for phase two of HS2 has emerged from several hundred options as the one considered overall to best meet objectives for passenger demand, sustainability, cost, ease-of-build and journey time. Considerations of sustainability have been integral to scheme design since work commenced on phase two in 2010.

This report by Temple-ERM for HS2 Ltd summarises the potential impacts on people and the environment of the government’s initial preferences for phase two of HS2. Amongst other things, it includes sections on the potential impacts of the proposed railway, stations and depots on the eastern and western legs of phase two. It includes a series of maps showing key sustainability features along each leg.

A more detailed appraisal of sustainability report will be published at the time of formal public consultation.
