Details

This technical report, originally published in 2006 and now reprinted, outlines an analytical method developed to measure the illegal dyes Sudans I-IV, Sudan Red G, Sudan Red B/7B, Toluidine Red and Dimethyl Yellow in paprika powder.

The report describes an analytical method available for the determination of these dyes in paprika powder using high performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry detection (HPLC-MS/MS). The method will detect these dyes at concentrations between 0.1 and 1.0 mg/kg.
