This guidance, originally published in April 2012, defines the standards that may be considered a minimum for HCSW immunisation training and to provide assistance to those responsible for developing and delivering training.

The guidance has been revised in September 2015 to include additional training requirements and considerations for HCSWs involved in the delivery of the children’s intranasal influenza and adult shingles vaccine programmes and to include new and updated guidance on delegation, competency assessment, Patient Group Directions and Patient Specific Directions.
