Details
This improvement notice requires Newham Council to take steps to improve its children’s social care services.
It follows a 25 March 2019 report by Ofsted that judged the overall effectiveness of children’s social care services provided by Newham council to be inadequate.
The letter issued to Newham Council outlines the principles which the Department for Education has agreed in response to a request for flexibilities from the local authority to enable it to deliver the requirements of its improvement notice, while responding to the challenges of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
This improvement notice was lifted following a report by Ofsted published on 21 September 2022.
