Details

The commission’s Summary Information Return (SIR) was introduced to give the public a greater insight of how charities with over £1 million income operate.

5,000 charities fell into this bracket in September 2006 representing fewer than 3% of the total number of charities on the register of charities.

This report shows some of the ways that charities have already used the SIR. It is hoped that other charities will be encouraged by this, to use the SIR to tell their own story.
