Details

Research evaluation baseline report providing a detailed picture of disabled people’s experience using transport network before full implementation of the Inclusive Transport Strategy (ITS). This report will be used for comparison with future evaluation work.

The report includes the findings from research activities conducted between August 2020 and February 2021 of:

  • a nationally representative survey among disabled people and the travelling public
  • a survey among assistance dog users
  • qualitative interviews with disabled people
  • a collation of inclusivity statistics from transport operators
  • qualitative interviews with train and bus operators
  • qualitative interviews with local licensing authorities

The report draws on information from the 2019 to 2020 inclusivity scorecard.

The technical report provides greater detail to the main evaluation report.

The Department for Transport commissioned the National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) to carry out an evaluation of the delivery of the ITS.
