Industry Qualifications Ltd (IQ) Handling of a malpractice incident Direction Closed 1 April 2016

On 26 February 2016 Ofqual gave a direction to IQ setting out steps it must take to minimise prejudice to learners caused by defects in its investigation of allegations of malpractice.

IQ has subsequently issued a letter to affected learners setting out:

We write in respect of the above qualification (“your Qualification”) and further to our previous letter dated April 2015, in which we advised you that your Qualification had been withdrawn.

The decision to withdraw your Qualification was investigated by Ofqual and as a consequence we hereby confirm that your Qualification was not withdrawn. Your Qualification therefore remains valid from the date it was originally granted.

Please let us know whether you require replacement results or a certificate in respect of your Qualification. We are continuing to investigate … and may write to you again in due course as part of that ongoing investigation.

Ofqual is monitoring carefully IQ’s progress in complying with the direction.
