The first document contains the Department of Health’s written evidence to the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration (DDRB) for the 2017 to 2018 pay round.

The supplementary evidence is the department’s response to the DDRB supplementary questions following the submission of the written evidence.

The annual pay award for doctors and dentists is determined by the government in the light of recommendations from the DDRB. In making its recommendations, the DDRB takes evidence from the 4 UK governments, British Medical Association, British Dental Association, NHS Employers and other interested parties.
