Thank you for your Email of 9th October 2021 in which you requested from the Insolvency Service information pertaining to staff pay scales by location.
Your request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
I can confirm the agency holds the information that you have requested, and I have provided answers to your questions below:

I have a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act which I have outlined below and would be grateful if you could respond to.

Please confirm if your organisation‘s pay scales/ranges for staff vary based on location within the UK, e.g. the payment of a London weighting.

If your organisation’s pay scales/ranges for staff vary based on location, please provide your organisation’s pay sales/ranges including the amount paid by staff band and location.

Answer: The Insolvency Service has offices in the following towns and cities:

1.2 Please confirm if your organisation‘s pay scales/ranges for staff vary based on location within the UK, e.g. the payment of a London weighting.
Answer: The Insolvency Service does not apply London Weighting to its rates of pay but does have separate pay scales for staff located in London to those located Nationally.
1.3 If your organisation’s pay scales/ranges for staff vary based on location, please provide your organisation’s pay sales/ranges including the amount paid by staff band and location.
Answer: Please find attached a document detailing the current Insolvency Service pay grades and ranges for both London and National staff at grades AA through to G6.
