The United Kingdom instrument of ratification was deposited on 12 March 2001 and the Joint convention entered into force for the United Kingdom on 18 June 2001. The Joint convention was previously published as Miscellaneous No. 9 (200) Cm. 4672 (ISBN 9780101467223).

This Command Paper was laid before Parliament by a Government Minister by Command of Her Majesty. Command Papers are considered by the Government to be of interest to Parliament but are not required to be presented by legislation.
