EU breeding body programmes for bovine, ovine, caprine, porcine and equine species that have been approved to extend their geographical territory into the UK.

Details

The EU breeding programmes on this list have been approved by the UK government to extend their operation into the UK or parts of the UK. The species included in these breeding programmes are:

• bovine
• porcine
• equine
• ovine
• caprine

These breeding bodies are authorised to register animals that reside in the UK. Equine breeding bodies are also authorised to issue passports.

You should only register or apply for an animal passport with an EU breeding body on this list.

1. 16 November 2022

   Added 'Purebred Knabstrupper – Classic' and 'Knabstrupper – Classic' to the list of UK-approved EU extended breeding programmes.

2. 15 February 2022

   Updated the list of UK-approved EU extended breeding programmes for bovine.

3. 12 October 2021

   Updated the list of UK-approved EU extended breeding programmes. Added Equine and Hybrid Breeding Pig breeds from the breed societies: Association National du Cheval de Trait Comtois, Association Française du Cheval Crème and Hypor B.V.
