The Government propose to introduce, through the Media Bill, a range of measures to ensure that the British television and radio broadcasting landscape both reflects current challenges and is better prepared for others in future. The Media Bill was introduced to Parliament on 8th November with an overarching IA published alongside.

The RPC has rated the IA as fit for purpose and our opinion is above.

An opinion for the supporting IA covering the ‘Regulation of radio services across voice assistant platforms’ is also available above.

Further opinions for other supporting IAs, produced on various elements of the Bill, can be found on the page for the RPC’s opinion on the draft Bill IA.
