This document sets out the ‘actual value method’ and ‘default value method’ for calculating lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with the production of biomethane from biogas for the Green Gas Support Scheme.

We made the following changes to the document:
- Adding subscript ‘a’ to the ‘Fuel feedstock factor’ definition in Part B, Section 1, on p.4.
- Removing subscript ‘t’ from the ‘total emissions from the fossil fuel comparator’ equation variable in Part B, Section 2, on p.4.
- Inserting a decimal point to correct a typographical error by changing 3,664 to 3.664 in Part B, Section 6 (and Footnote 3).
- Adding typical and default values for ‘Close digestate, no off-gas combustion’ and ‘Close digestate, off-gas combustion’ for ‘Biomethane from biowaste’ production systems in Part C, Table 1, p.8. This reflects data from the equivalent table in REDII, Annex VI, D, Table ‘Typical and default values for biomethane’.
