Details

This MGN provides guidance on the Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) Regulations 1997 which set the framework for health and safety on board ships. It sets out the responsibilities and duties of shipowners, masters and seafarers. There are also some additional duties for employers.

This MGN replaces MGN 20(M+F) for the merchant navy. MGN 587(F) provides guidance for fishing vessels.
