Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) is 1 of 8 workstreams within our Future of Transport regulatory review, which is part of the Future of Transport programme.

Our Future of Transport programme aims to shape transport innovation and secure the UK’s position as a leader in the transport sector of the future.

With increasing availability of data and digital capability in the mobility sector, we’re seeing the emergence of new business models that package different modes and services together into one application to make planning and payment of trips easier for consumers.

One example building on these trends has been MaaS, which we have defined as

the integration of various modes of transport along with information and payment functions into a single mobility service

This research:

  • explores the perceived benefits of MaaS to the consumer
  • highlights potential challenges and risks of MaaS
