NHS pension scheme stakeholders have been engaged with Department officials in finalising the document.

The Equality analysis ensures that further discussions with NHS pension scheme stakeholders, including the relevant trade unions, on the detailed provisions of the new scheme design, will meet the requirements of the Public Service Pension Bill.

On 9 March 2012 the Secretary of State for Health published a proposed final agreement on the scheme design for the reformed NHS pension scheme for England and Wales to be introduced in 2015.

On 4 July 2012 the Chief Secretary to the Treasury published a Written Ministerial Statement stating that the government was now moving to implement the proposed final agreements in respect of  final scheme designs for the NHS pension scheme, teachers’ pension scheme and principal civil service pension scheme.
