This document provides guidance to all NHS foundation and non-foundation trusts on the actions to take to increase openness and clarity about NHS procurement.

Although this document is not applicable to independent sector providers of NHS healthcare, such providers may wish to consider the benefits of adopting the guidance in this document.

• opening up public procurement
• being transparent about expenditure
• sharing expenditure data
