Effective branding helps build the UK’s reputation as a global leader in international development. It ensures that people, including those who benefit from programmes, understand the UK government’s – and UK taxpayers’ – contribution to international development.

The main way we communicate this is through effective use of the UK International Development and other official logos.

Minister for International Development and Africa Andrew Mitchell launched the new UK International Development brand at Chatham House in April 2023.

This branding guidance is for:

  • Foreign, Commonwealth & Development (FCDO) staff
  • UK government departments that spend Official Development Assistance (ODA)
  • implementing partner organisations
