Details

These documents support the National Dental Epidemiology Programme (NDEP) oral health survey of children in year 6.

All the necessary methods and support materials for fieldworkers to carry out this oral health survey are provided here.

The data collection tool is available to download from the Dental Public Health Epidemiology workspace page.

The findings of these surveys provide comparable details of caries levels and other clinical measures at local authority level. This informs decisions by local authorities, the NHS and other partners.

The results are classified as official statistics.
