Our original investigation into Peninsula Community Health Community Interest Company

Details

We close the investigation into Peninsula Community Health Community Interest Company (PCH) after the transfer of essential adult community services to Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

In July 2015, PCH confirmed that it would not be seeking to extend its contract to provide community care (such as community hospitals, district nursing and rehabilitation services) in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly beyond 31 March 2016.

We opened our investigation into the independent healthcare provider in August 2015 due to concerns over its financial sustainability in order to ensure that patients continued to have access to essential services.

Peninsula Community Health was able to provide services through to the end of its contract and its staff and services transferred to Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust on 1 April 2016.

NHS Improvement acknowledges the efforts of PCH management and staff in supporting the continuity of essential services during their contract term and the orderly transfer of those services to a new provider.
