2 November 2015 - Frequently asked questions document published

We have today (2 November 2015) published a frequently asked questions (FAQ) document that applies to the procurement of Police Station Telephone Advice services from 1 June 2016.

This document gives answers to common questions received through the eTendering system message board.

The FAQ document can be found on this page under ‘Documents’.

The deadline for asking questions about the content of the tender or Information for Applicants (IFA) document was 12pm on 29 October 2015. The LAA is unable to respond to any questions received after this date.

Many questions will be answered by the information given in IFA document, which is also available on this page under ‘Documents’.

Questions on how to use the eTendering system should be directed to technical support on 0800 368 4850 (lines are open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday) or at: [email protected].

The deadline for submitting tenders is 9am on 9 November 2015.

23 October 2015 - Procurement of Police Station Telephone Advice (PSTA) services

The Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) which is the first stage of procurement of PSTA services from 1 June 2016 has opened today (23 October 2015). The deadline for submitting responses to the PQQ is 9am on Monday 9 November 2015.

Organisations wishing to deliver publicly funded PSTA services from 1 June 2016 must submit a response to this PQQ.

The Information For Applicants (IFA) that governs this procurement process is available in the ‘Tender related documents’ section at the top of this page. The IFA provides full details about this procurement process, including the criteria that applicant organisations must meet.

Tender responses must be made online through the eTendering portal. A helpline has been set-up to support you if you have any technical problems with the eTendering system: 0800 368 4850 (lines are open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday or emailed to the following email address: [email protected].

If you have any questions about the content of the procurement process or IFA document, these must be raised through the eTendering system by 12pm on 29 October 2015. Questions of wider interest will be collated and answered through a frequently asked questions document which will be published on the 2 November 2015.

Closing date for responses to the PQQ is 9 am on 9 November 2015.

9 September 2015: Police Station Telephone Advice (PSTA) tender Prior Information Notice published

Further to the tender intentions document published on 20 August 2015 we issued a Prior Information Notice on 7 September for publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) setting out our plans for PSTA.

The LAA wishes to invite expressions of interest from organisations for the services detailed. Please note that this is for information only. Organisations that do not express an interest in response to this Prior Information Notice will not be precluded from taking part in the procurement process which will begin in due course.

Please respond by 21 September by emailing [email protected] with the following information:

  1. Name of your organisation
  2. Type of organisation
  3. Which service you are interested in (i.e. the consolidated Police Station Telephone Advice contract, PSITA only, or CDD only)

20 August 2015: Police station telephone advice (PSTA) tender intentions published

We’ve published a tender intentions document setting out our plans for organisations wanting to deliver Crime Defence Direct and Police Station Immigration Telephone Advice Service from June 2016.

The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) are inviting comments on the approach by 27 August 2015. Any feedback received will be taken into consideration in development of the procurement documentation.

In October 2015 LAA will open a tender process to give new organisations the opportunity to provide publicly funded PSTA services.
