The Police Transformation Fund (PTF) is intended to transform policing by investing in digitalisation, a diverse and flexible workforce and new capabilities to respond to changing crimes and threats.

The PTF supports investment in policing driven through the leadership of the Police Reform and Transformation Board (PRTB). In phase 1 (2016/2017 to 2017/2018), 98 projects benefited from £223 million of PTF funding.

Phase 2 (2018/2019 to 2019/2020) now consists of a prioritised reform portfolio that is delivering major national programmes including Single Online Home (policing website), development of cyber security capability, back office ICT tools and collaboration on a forensics network. It is also delivering projects that will further support the sector achieve outcomes included in the National Policing Vision 2025, such as establishing the National Police Welfare Service.
