Details

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) (including Non-Departmental Public Bodies accountable to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions) has 15 powers to enter premises without a warrant. Section 42 of the Protection of Freedom Act 2012 requires the Secretary of State to conduct a review of these powers. The review should include consideration of whether to order a repeal for any power which they consider to be unnecessary or inappropriate.

This report details the powers reviewed, decisions and next steps to be taken. Detailed analysis relating to each power can be found in Annexes A to D of the report.
