Details

This note on purchasing steel applied to all central government departments, including their executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies. All other contracting authorities in the wider public sector were strongly encouraged to adopt this approach.

It applied to infrastructure, construction or other major procurement projects with a significant steel component, where the overall project requirement has a capital value of £10 million or more.
