The first of these reports examines young workers’ age and earnings profiles, before and after the introduction of the National Minimum Wage, using data from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE). It covers the ‘recession years’ of 2008 to 2010.

It also uses data from the Annual Business Inquiry (ABI) and ASHE to estimate productivity and wage equations (relationships between unemployment and wages) for different sectors.

The second report (further investigation) uses the same data sources to estimate productivity and wage equations for different sectors from 2003 to 2010.
