Closure of the Open Market Review Request For Information - Phase 1B and Cornwall Consultation on 22nd April 2021
Updated 22 April 2021
The Open Market Review (OMR) process for the Project Gigabit Programme in the Release 1B areas and Cornwall concluded on 22nd April 2021 at 5pm. Building Digital UK requested that network providers submit broadband infrastructure coverage, and the deadline for doing so has now passed.
The OMR covered the following geographical areas and began on the 25th March 2021:
- West of Cornwall and Isles of Scilly (Lot 32)
- East of Cornwall (Lot 33)
- Norfolk (Lot 7)
- Shropshire (Lot 25)
- Suffolk (Lot 2)
- Worcestershire (Lot 24)
- Hampshire and Isle of Wight (Lot 27)
This Open Market Review was run to establish coverage for gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure across the above geographic areas. This included establishing both commercial coverage by existing broadband network providers and future planned deployment.
BDUK contacted all known broadband network providers within the area and other providers known to have, or potentially planning to deploy, new networks across the region with a formal request for information.
The Open Market Review was publicised through a notification on the DCMS Government portal on 25th March 2021.
We are currently evaluating all responses received. Formal responses will be sent to all network providers who submitted information in due course.
Our intention is to commence the formal Public Review exercise next. Information on the Public Review exercise will be made available for suppliers and members of the public to take part in the process.
