Details

The consultation on the pharmacy integration fund ended on 24 March 2016.

The public phase of the consultation on the proposals that will lead to drug tariff determinations in October 2016 ended on 24 May 2016. The Department of Health, supported by NHS England, will continue to discuss the proposals in confidence with the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and hold a final round of confidential discussions with other main pharmacy stakeholders.

Our aim is to communicate the final decisions early in July so pharmacy contractors are fully informed in advance of the changes being implemented from October 2016.

The government wants to better integrate community pharmacy into primary care. The letter from DH and NHS England to the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee and the pharmacy sector marked the start of the consultation process on community pharmacy in 2016 to 2017.

The ‘Community Pharmacy in 2016/17 and beyond’ documents provide further details on the ongoing consultation process and set out the proposals for community pharmacy.
