We ran a study that used data we already held to pay a random sample of individuals their estimated Pension Credit entitlement, for a short period, without them having first claimed.

The final evaluation findings were published in 2 reports. This publication contains findings from qualitative research with participants that explored attitudes to this approach and reasons for subsequent Pension Credit take-up.

The quantitative report provides the net impact of the estimated payments on subsequent Pension Credit take-up.
