Early in 2013 Ofqual launched a review of the quality of marking of exams in A levels, GCSEs and other academic qualifications in England. We published an interim report on quality of marking in June 2013.

In our final report, we:

  • present an in-depth review of the current marking system
  • set out a series of next steps and recommendations to improve the quality of marking of GCSEs, A levels and other academic qualifications
  • improve the transparency of the exam system
